I am not sure
where I went wrong
but for what I've said
though I cannot
for the life of me
quite know just what it was,
I am forever sorry
that I've hurt one tender thread
of what I hold
so very dear;
my heart leans
neck to head.

For whatever reason and in whatever way, we all step over some personal boundaries and awaken fears or embedded regrets or secret depths, and for this reason at a moment's notice we need to be ready to let go of all ourselves and relinquish the higher ground for the sake of friendship.
