The vexation of all men

What is it that vexes all men?

It can be harsh, changing
and indomitable like a tempest.

Could it be the dichotomy of good and evil?

Since time immemorial
this quandary has been debated,
fore this has started wars
and made great enemies,
crushed armies, made rubble of kingdoms.

Legendary sonnets have been composed;
written, many quatrains and odes,
all to this, that all men seek to hold.

What could that possibly be?

Something that can tear up your world
or make it the happiest it has ever been
you decide what it is going to be
and when you find it care for it lovingly.

So what is it you say?

Simple,

a woman.
