Crystalline Grief

Wrists slit in the poetic sense
using my blood as ink
to express the pain I feel
my essence draining.

Can you feel me dwindling, fading?

The darkness has embraced me
utterly consuming my being
I don't fight it
instead I float down
its beautiful onyx stream.

Where my tears go unseen
no light to shine on
my crystalline grief.

The blackness a covering
wrapping me in its dark cloak
a comfort for my forlone soul.

Drifting in the inky depths
of the life I know
I fade into the darkness
allowing the bleak to crash down on me
wave after wave.
