Image for the poem Goodbye Summer

Goodbye Summer

She tested us
Every way she could
Burned us to the ground
Sweat, humidity and frowns
That damn sun
Relentless
Long evenings
Moon lit calls
Walking with you
Sweet summer
Margaritas by the seaside
Lust in the air
No cares
Too hot
Too much rain
Too much traffic
Too much
It goes fast
Somewhere in August
Knowing this will end soon
Labor Day
Last call
We love summer
Hate the heat
Complaints
Melancholy has a way
Autumn on the horizon
Damn pumpkin everything
Makes me laugh
Is what it is
September 21st
Summer waves goodbye
We love ya
Curse you too
Already missing you ...
