Don't Linger On

your ego swells in mirrors
deep within you bask in your pride
your self love are like shadows
a selfishness you cannot hide

your charm is like an after shave
all stuck in you on you and around
you look so gallant and brave
you smile with an air of elegance

you think everything is about you
the sad songs from the radio
the clouds of white on blue
the poem about love so true

sometimes you pass by
giving me that tiny smile
as if its a favour bestowed
a smile for one as I

I smile back, but its not for you
its at you, so sad and unwelcomed
to grace any porch for a cup or two
you're a lonely Karen looking smug

thinking we are all pining for you
we are avoiding you like the flu
