Yearning for Ordinary

In the warm cocoon of my room,
drifting to the rains nourishing patter.
The mountainous decisions
seem just a tiny bit flatter.
The gales of gloom
cannot shiver hope's bloom.
Agony's apocalypse.
Had a sky of bliss.
I awoke to a butter yellow ray
illuminating the shade.
Gratitude grasps my mind today.
When it's ordinary, we yearn for extraordinary.
And in angst,
we desperately yearn for ordinary.

Author's Note
I was granted a reprieve from making a very difficult medical decision
regarding my mom. The ordinary feels extraordinary. Feeling grateful.
