Yearning for Ordinary
In the warm cocoon of my room,
drifting to the rains nourishing patter.
The mountainous decisions
seem just a tiny bit flatter.
The gales of gloom
cannot shiver hope's bloom.
Agony's apocalypse.
Had a sky of bliss.
I awoke to a butter yellow ray
illuminating the shade.
Gratitude grasps my mind today.
When it's ordinary, we yearn for extraordinary.
And in angst,
we desperately yearn for ordinary.
drifting to the rains nourishing patter.
The mountainous decisions
seem just a tiny bit flatter.
The gales of gloom
cannot shiver hope's bloom.
Agony's apocalypse.
Had a sky of bliss.
I awoke to a butter yellow ray
illuminating the shade.
Gratitude grasps my mind today.
When it's ordinary, we yearn for extraordinary.
And in angst,
we desperately yearn for ordinary.
Author's Note
I was granted a reprieve from making a very difficult medical decision
regarding my mom. The ordinary feels extraordinary. Feeling grateful.

Hi Brandy, thank you for the love. I'm learning to find the extraordinary in the ordinary. 💜

Sometimes ordinary can feel extraordinary.
So happy for you, you were granted a reprieve from making a very difficult medical decision.
That must have been such a relief - and you created an amazing write out of it 💕

Apart from the bench, you could be relaxing on Mars in the artwork depicted here. It does look relaxing & it's so true that ordinary is good. We should appreciate it more than we do! Thanks for the reminder. 😊

Good job of comparing and contrasting certain things that affect mood. I can have "feel" for this as if you're defining my day, heh. I think extraordinary is a bit greedy, in the context of how you wrote this, and I like that. Simply being happy for the ordinary, there isn't enough thankfulness to kindly consider it, on a daily basis. You brush up on some of that, here. Thanks for sharing!

In the end, it will be the little ordinary moments we long for.
For me, trapped in a situation where I can't see the extraordinary things
in the world, I find extraordinary in the ordinary
And in my angst I yearn for just the ordinary.
Learning that kind of gratitude can really change you, for the better
I enjoyed your commentary, thank you very much
