Entourage

drowsing in the eternal slumber
I awaken to the centuries
tumbling through time without care

our meeting place is secured
I am summoned at the appointed date
he tells me I am being refused once more
I am not fit as a companion

I've been wandering here forever it seems
living off the radar
I feel a sadness inside me to be forsaken again
summoning my best smile
I walk the other way

I brook first refusal
he has denied me, I will take a lover
inside the scorn grow

timeless beauty reflecting my royalty
I collect the shadows dressing in them
my vulnerability covered I secure myself in the heavens
adorned, who needs the inconvenience of court

the king departs with his entourage of whores
my star shine can be seen from far upon high
where he sits in judgment of me
