Into the Reaches of the Universe

 
Not yet fully explained
From the unimaginable density and heat
To subatomic particles formed
Through primordial elements coalesced
After millions and millions of years
We are born

We are only here but for the mere blink of an eye
Building and destroying
Suffering and enjoying the creations we made
So that after whatever principles and machinations we lead
In whatever lives we live
All we leave behind is memory

The physical goes back to the elements…dispersed
While the soul lives in the remembrance of those still alive
In a paradise (or blaze) dependent of a life lived
While some seem to linger and haunt in dreams

Whatever we choose to believe
Whatever we decide to accept as true and conceive
To ashes and dust we must all go
But the soul goes into the forever unknown
Into whatever creed
Expanding further and further into the reaches of the universe
…unknown
