Skechers for Scorpions

Yesterday, I almost stepped on a scorpion.
In sandals.

I wore the sandals,
not the scorpion

But perhaps I wasn't alone.

For had I stopped to observe very, very carefully,
there is the slightest possibility
that I might have seen
eight tiny stylish summer shoes.

Author's Note
A bit of Ogden Nash-ish (but not as good) silliness off the top of my head.

Between Phoenix now being as arid as the Atacama Desert, and vicious creepy insects, I'm kind of starting to want to move somewhere else.
