I'm just a girl
wild like my father
soft like my mother
I let the wind rip through my curls

I'm just a girl
heart always on fire
about one thing or another
dripping tears on a glass top like pearls

I'm just a girl
my love is a heart shaped locket
keep me forever in your pocket
take me along and show me the world

I'm just a girl
tossed as the ocean
quiet as a moment
I pace barefoot on my apartment floor

I'm just a girl
lullabies to tire
my demons they are liars
and they scream at me through my door

I'm just a girl
running through the forest like I lost it
a million words could never even solve it
take my heart and bring me out of the dark

I'm just a girl
and simple life could be a calamity
I want transcendence.
I want you there with me.

I'm at your door tonight
leaning on the rail
come hold me, love, and kiss me. I'm on fire
and I'm just a girl.
