I often find that my screaming mind can be heard through my eyes, so I too look away.
This poem really touched me today and made me think about the person I just said goodbye to.
This time it was me.

Good fucking hell, this rips to look at. The internal struggle. You don’t want them to go, and you can’t ask them to stay, and when they do it’s not a relief it’s a fucking rope tied to a stone thrown in the sea. And yet… the rope feels nice on a good day.

And damn if you didn't summarize the exact moment/feeling of knowing when the ceiling is falling on a relationship.  What to salvage, or just flee.  Even when we realize it's a loss, in waiting, we ponder the bird in hand syndrome.  
Complacency buries a heart. Same as a break, really.

God this was painful to read but so eloquently expressed in all of it's power, I wish I found this poem sooner due to it being so relatable to a current space i'm sitting in, the looking away, putting your foot down and all the while that person still blazes through your soul, it's painful coming to a last resort, i've been there and this heavily resonated with me in my thoughts, for all the ways this poem could have been expressed it was absolutely fantastic in it's execution.

You really captured those unspoken emotions that often times feel heavy and unclear. The will to stay or go has that uncertainty it can become quite scary. Your pen flows naturally, speaking to those who’ve expo or who might be in a similar situation.
