Daydream Swamp

Sometimes I long for something I'll never know
Trees dripping with moss and long strands of green life
Water plants lazily growing in the holy water
Ebbing and flowing with the casual current
Murky, filled to the brim with a mild tense nature
A ripple that could be a turtle swimming about
Or a gator moving... Hunting under the water
I long for a boat engine louder than my demons
Of snakes laying on trees glimmering in the light
A living rich woman's jeweled necklace
Warming itself in a rare sunlight ray through the trees
Water bugs racing along on the surface of the water
Narrowly avoiding many frogs sharp attention
Some making music only their bodies can make
I long for heavy air and a humidity I'll never know
There's something in my heart that longs for a house
Built on stilts right above the water with a dock
That dingy boat barely kept together tied up to it
I long to just sit crossed legged fishing from it's edge
Maybe I watched too many movies with swamps
Maybe I played in too many muddy streams
Spent so much time in nature that I want to drown in it
My memories sewn all together to make a fantasy
I close my eyes and I can see it all before me
