I do enjoy when people put their passions into their words. It always shines through as something completely genuine and I can totally get behind that.

I stopped dead in my tracks at your title!! Xanadu is almost like a right of passage for a girl who grew up in the 80's!! There's undoubtedly going to be an age gap here and I totally feel sorry for those who aren't privy to the glorious colors of a 1980's skate party with this song blasting and it being played several times over, the smell of the skating rink, the short shorts and leg warmer combo, the sparkles and distinct makeup, wanting and needing to have incredibly awesome feathered hair ala Olivia Newton-John's...Working the Aquanet to try and make it happen.... lmao!!
Yes, you've released some entrenched memories for sure.

I still have my glittery roller skates with blue pom poms from around that time frame, collecting dust in the attic!

Right - I so agree. We need to bring it back. Anytime we have a party
we must make it a Xanadu theme!!! Wouldn't that be awesome!!!
And have the movie playing on our T.V. in the background on repeat!!!
It was a huge passage for a girl in the 80s. The first time I saw it I was blown away on the opening scene. When the muses come alive on that mural and go on their own way. Just had to watch!! I was completely enthralled with everything!!!

Delightful. I really enjoyed the enthusiasm of this poem. I won’t blather on about the two times I’ve actually tried the roller skate or trying to wash the glitter out of hair in trying to emulate the crystal wig 😏 (what a to do!)

to every now and then. Been wanting to write this for like a few months - just didn't have the time.  
Finally sat down and started writing.
Had to put on the soundtrack and just let it flow out onto the page.
Getting glitter out of your hair can be a nightmare!!!
I learned just try wash it out once - eventually it will come out on like the fifth day. hahaha
I was great on roller skates as long as I didn't have to turn. LOL
Never could get that part down.

Hey chica bonita. Wow, this is just bursting with brilliant colour in the most magnificent way. It pulls you into this sea of fantasy and is such a sensual experience to roller skate with you through these dream beams of creativity. I have to admit I have never seen Xanadu, love that name, but I will be looking for it because I have to see it now. Who doesn't love kinda cheesy. :p But there is nothing cheesy about this. I would have loved to see the 80s in all it's splendor. And I truly love seeing you in all of your splendor. You are awesome in every way. :)
