Not All Poetry Is Pretty
... and it shouldn't be
throwing ourselves
at descriptive ways
of making a
flower
sound
more beautiful than
the sight of it
or making our
depression
seem more serious
than the next bloke
blinding ourselves
to the realization
not all poetry is pretty
...and it shouldn't be
steadfast in our
form,
meter,
rhyme,
page landing
and the added image
sending the
angels,
sexy sluts,
and MILF's
out
to find
some erotic-energy
turning the most
primal of acts
into some kind of
watercolor-word-painting
there comes a time
dammit!
where we just have to admit
not all poetry is pretty
...and it shouldn't be
repetition
flowering the words
forced down the throat
of some
poor un-suspecting
fucker
who landed on a page
and thought
"ooh that sounds nice!"
sometimes poetry is a
vile mass produced virus
that fucks up
a small percentage
of the earth
or the need
to use bombs and rifles
like pre-historic
black and white movie sets
of yester-year
while other fuckers
fly heavy rockets
through galaxies
exploding
continents
during a time
when media frenzy is
a slap to the face
of a guy with
a mouth the size
of an ocean-liner
-the type of slap
we got
asking for post-date
kisses
in the early teens
and in the
southern
most
tip
of Africa
some fucker
drops Typhoid
into drinking-water
the truth
sometimes poetry
is as ugly
as the protagonists
in dull
uninspired
stories
left for the writing
left for the reading
left for the film-making
