Abandoning 2021
When a job
Becomes
Too much,
We quit
Before
We get fired.
When
A relationship
Hits bottom,
We have
To
Decide
If this it;
It's gone
Rotten.
2021,
I'm so done
With you,
Not sorry
To say we're
Totally through.
You took
My last
Smile,
Got on
My last
Nerve,
Stole
All
My verve,
Took
All my joy,
I'm abandoning you.
I've found
A new love
In 'ought 22.
She's smiling
Right
At me,
And
Offering
Hope,
'Cause
I need
A lifeline
Through
Which
I can cope.
Bye-bye,
I won't miss
Whatever you were.
I'm loving myself,
And you're
Just a blur.

Thanks....yes.. good riddance. I don't want to click through life, but I don't want to sit motionless in stale air either.

I imagine this was one of the poems where you felt a sense of relief when you finished writing it.

It was. I never live for the weekend. Every day is equally important.
And so, every year. My 20's were way better than my teens. 30's over 20's. 40's over 30's. 50's better. 60's best so far.
I would not go back, since everything was behind me.
A few days, Groundhogged, but for the most part, present.
The last 3 years....increasingly better.
2021 had some of the most beautiful days of my life. The costs were high. I don't regret them. But, having survived it... yep.. onward.
And so, every year. My 20's were way better than my teens. 30's over 20's. 40's over 30's. 50's better. 60's best so far.
