fortuitous flutters
Being of the wind
rushing
pulsing,
tumultuous
cyclonic air
blown from
ancient
sourced direction
billowing
and
caressing
taut
promises
born of
chaos
just.
one.
flap.
... and
a butterfly
created
destiny
fortune effects
In the blink
of a multicolored
flutter

Yes, so true.... Also the idea that one teeny tiny moment, can end up having enormous impact/changes/consequences that are totally unforseen....
I appreciate you, the generous list add and your thoughtfulness, Ron.

Excellent crafting ... taking a well poeted subject ... making it your own ... delicate ... like butterfly wings ... yet carrying such a weighty message ... visually seductive ... subtle use of spacing ... to maintain the rhythm and cadence of the poem ... splendid write my dear poetess ...

Umm gorgeous . This would make for a fabulous reading! *wink wink*
I like the short line breaks. It forces the reader to slow down. I used to be kinda “meh” about love poems, but more recently I have been gobbling them up. This a terrific one.
And that avatar, though 😍

Wow.
Thanks, Eerie!
I haven't done a spoken word for a while, so maybe this one would work, I hadn't thought of it! Thanks for the *nudge*... ;)
I appreciate your thoughtful comments! I'm usually all over the place, when it comes to my particular preferences or styles of writing that I seem drawn to. I've feel like I've always been a real dichotomy (haha) ... My go to favs--that I will always adore, are the love poems that ache so hard it feels like your own heart is breaking and those dark, searing, almost gothic-like pieces that will always have me basking, sullenly (haha!) in the shadows!!! 🖤..... So I get it, *about gobbling them up!!
Thanks again for stopping by-
I'm grateful for it!

The wings of the butterfly are made of rhyme, the fluttering is the rhythm of life that together create poetry out of chaos. Love this.

Although, likely not your intent. My 1st impression was this.
An adventurer, non conformist, chaotic personality, with a powerful charismatic cyclone personality. The touch of the tip of his cyclone draws you into a multi-colored flutter, as your "wings" flap.

I'm kinda digging it, Leo .... the scene that you've laid out... spreading the wings of possibility... enticing my imagination, into perfect throes .... leaving my pulse a flutter and dripping in pure welcomed chaos.....
Ohh the air of subjectivity!

Blu,
You have an extraordinary ability to create an otherworldly experience with your work. I feel this very acutely in everything that I read of yours. I very much appreciate how you concisely incorporate allusions to depth of meaning, which can be explored in varying manners. “Being of wind” can be viewed in a very literal sense or a symbolic manner: the winds of fortune or [the elements] and beyond. The idea of “Being” also has multiple connotations, from a singular creature of nature to the consciousness of existence or the state of existing… (Just a wonderful setup.)
In my perception, I feel that this breakdown is apropos to the unfolding of this piece, as I feel like the statement that is made is one of… “Fate/Fortune” as both simple and complex, each level of perspective being equally valid and contained in the same “symbol”. (Like two wings of a butterfly.)
I get this impression in the lines “blown from/ ancient/ sourced direction/”. It is not just the mere/simple flap of the butterfly wings; and yet it is. (It can be as much as we want to make it.)
“billowing/and/caressing/taut/promises/”. This seems to confirm my impression of multi faceted meaning, because, here you seem to imply a nature to fate that is far removed from the mere “striking of the chord”… (The music existed before the symphony was composed and performed.) Because how could there be the existence of promises, without a “vision of reality” in support of the promise, this prior to the flap of the wings, which sends “one’s fate” into motion.
It was all in “the chaos”. Outside of time and space.
“fortune effects”
This, to me, adds another dimension to fate… Perhaps it is not definitive… Yes, the fault might lie in our stars; but then, maybe we can change our stars. Like the idea that seeing the future can alter the future. Or… The self fulfilling prophecy.
And then, I feel confirmation, in my perspective with “In the blink/of a multicolored/flutter”… There is a spectrum of considerations in this “singular flutter”.
And yet it exists perfectly as a singularity.
And how, eternity can exist in “a blink”.
I just want to tell you that everything you write is a flapping of butterfly wings. Your writing matters so much in this world. I hope someday you put together a book, so that I might have it on my book shelf. It will be a priceless treasure.
Your friend,
Pablo (Cipher_O)

Dear BV,
“ fortune effects
In the blink
of a multicolored
flutter” does this work like a genie in a bottle? If I find that butterfly my fortune will increase and love will roll my way? No? Crap!
Well, I still love it anyway.
“ and
a butterfly
created
destiny” this is such a cool phrase to me. It makes me think that each one of us has the ability to blink or whisper something nice to each other and alter something in the universe that headed in an entirely different direction. Another smash it. Lovely work. H🌷

Gorgeously rendered poem on the profound effect that a butterfly can have over eons. This brings to mind a story I read in high school. After the discovery of time travel, some men went back in time dinosaur hunting. However while back then they accidentally killed a butterfly Upon returning to their time everyone spoke German and the world was run by Nazis. Amazing how such a little event can have great consequences down the line.

The impact of one small event.. can be colossal, in the presence of time compounded.....

It reminds me of that butterfly effect theory, the tiniest little things can have such an effect on life and destiny.
Lovely piece Blue, really lovely.
