Sadly hate spread like a fungus on society

You definitely nailed it, Ron. Hate breeds hate. Intolerance breeds intolerance.... etc etc... I make my own efforts to unite and transcend. Hopefully more will continue to have their eyes opened to see the goodness of people and not focus on the parts of others that aren't ANY of their business and have ZERO affects on their own lives. We all bleed red, that's what it should boil down to. Basic human decency.....because we're essentially all the same.

Oh, if only I were your equal. From each there worth to each there need, dividing up your brilliance among the many lesser poets. They should tax you more and tax me less and make us all listen to piss poor poetry until I sound as brilliant as the rest. If only poetry were based on mediocracy instead of meritocracy. Calliope, Minerva, Saraswati, and Brigid are the many names poets call on for blessing. you must be busy indeed between answering prayers and writing poetry to just living with passion.

I enjoyed, very much, this erudite, melancholy, poignant slice if truth. You write about sugar coating with not a scintilla of the sweet stuff to make the medecine go down. I typically choose some favorite passages but in this case I felt it foolish to cut and paste the entire poem here😍 Okay one masterful passage,

Dear BV,

All that being said what do we do? How to stop the madness? Since the beginning of recorded time seemingly nothing’s changed, we just wear better clothes and don’t have to build our own fires. I’m sorry to sound like such a downer.  As of late, there isn’t a single thing of beauty anywhere. Nobody’s nice to each other, everyone feels entitled and yet the second I look out my window I’m grateful for the wildflowers. Ugh! Send me some Blue cheer please. X H🌷

I know it's all mostly grey skies and bad news reports.... At least that's how it seems to me, a lot of the time.... but I couldn't let intolerance and propaganda spread without taking a stance... I can't abide, that's for sure...

This really was mind-blowing. Propaganda can be made palatable to the masses. And you made the process crystal clear. Bob Dylan said, "Patriotism is the last refuge to which a scoundrel clings." Your poem really blew apart the camouflage double-speak uses to hide. And you did it with such great honesty that the last shard of illusion is made transparent to the eye of the beholder. Truly the best illustration of how we can be brainwashed into lying to ourselves I've come across. You made the process very clear.
