A Man's Character...
Man's character is like the edge beyond the border
Along the body or across the soul,
Where behind a wall of hardened steel
Lurks pain at the edge of silence
Man's character - like that thunderstorm in a rush
In the midst of the heavens beyond the rocks in the darkness,
Where suddenly the tears are salty, grasping
Mixes in desperate rain
Man's character - like a straight line,
Where on the breaks it is piercingly sharp,
But all the same gives up, slowly burning,
Desiring affection and feminine warmth
Man's character - a broad handwriting of the heart,
Where in every line there is a fall and rise,
Where will is on the border with honor
Through darkness and abyss leads to salvation
And where, behind a layer of thousands of rigid masks,
the Soul is full of desire to create,
Fly over the world, lighting up the colors,
And sincerely passionately love
And every step - always taking on higher
Through hell and heaven, to the brightest stars!
The male character is true to himself to death,
And he will try to never let her down ...
Along the body or across the soul,
Where behind a wall of hardened steel
Lurks pain at the edge of silence
Man's character - like that thunderstorm in a rush
In the midst of the heavens beyond the rocks in the darkness,
Where suddenly the tears are salty, grasping
Mixes in desperate rain
Man's character - like a straight line,
Where on the breaks it is piercingly sharp,
But all the same gives up, slowly burning,

Where will is on the border with honor

And where, behind a layer of thousands of rigid masks,
the Soul is full of desire to create,
Fly over the world, lighting up the colors,
And sincerely passionately love
And every step - always taking on higher
Through hell and heaven, to the brightest stars!
The male character is true to himself to death,
And he will try to never let her down ...

A good man is hard to find or so it is said ..
A good man will do anything for his woman, love, protection, support, humor, quality sex, maybe even some dusting but that might be a stretch 😉
I love your belief in us. We take it on the chin a lot, I like the street cred !
Another win Kx
We men thank you

Ah yes! Trying to stick with the positive message but I know what you mean. ;) lol Maybe we should just say a good person is hard to find; we all have our flaws.
Now that's a great list. ;) wait - 'dusting' where is this man?
I have known both ends of the spectrum but there is a lot of negativity these days so I hoped to put out another positive message in relation to good men and masculinity. I am really happy you think it's a win and I do believe. Loving the MAN LIKE and thanks for the RL. ;) 💪

This is or was embedded in the code and it would indeed be a beautiful world if all men followed this code. But sadly there are so many that think you can fake truth or has the wrong impression of what a true male is. But we find it beautiful that a woman has the confidence and the ability to give some guidance in that direction. We totally loved the piece, especially the the build up to the last stanza, totally tight

Thank you so much for providing me with your feedback and thoughts I_IS_ME. As someone who has been through some truly terrible things I completely understand your point. There are a lot of bad people out there but there are also lots of good people so I wanted to focus on a positive message here. :) I am really happy you loved the piece and thought it was totally tight! 💪

Yes, definitely from the heart's soul and no one is perfect but there are good people out there and I just wanted to express that. It may be hard to find the right person but it's worth searching. :) 💪

Why thank-you. Now to find a woman of similar character! ; )
The last paragraph made me think of Father’s Day. No dad wants to let his little girl down. That is what we are supposed to do – protect, provide, shield, shelter, and be strong. The world may claim to be civilized, but there are plenty of barbarians. Of course, there are struggles with emotions, comfort, maybe even communication. I guess a trait from being outside the lines.

Such mythical creatures do exist DaVinci. ;) What type of women do you usually attract? ;)
There are lots of obstacles and the world can be a very cruel place so it is ideal when you can protect, provide, shelter, and be strong for each other to get through it all. Even though I think we all know the struggles that can come with any relationship it can be worth the effort (sometimes :p). Thank you so much for the comment. 💪

A lot of idiosyncratic intricacies that bring this to life.
I like how in the opening stanza you incorporate "is" into the simile, where in the subsequent similes you employ a dash mark. To me this signifies a sort of dynamism into both the experience of the piece as well as the subject matter. A person is like light, which is two things at once, until attention is cast upon the light, which sees it become particles and waves. (at least as far as we know, because who is to say what happens when light is amongst itself, which convey just a very expansive mystery.)
I have heard it said that no one can ever really know anyone. but the word "know" in and of itself is mysterious, because one could ask oneself if "to know" is spectral in nature. like... A scale of knowledge with no definitive.
I think what I like about this most is the idea that extremely profound and beautiful insights may be made on individual levels into individuals, but you leave room for the mysteries that certainly accompany most or all things, like how answers only convey more questions as the nature of reality...
And a bad ass ending...

Hey Cipher! Thank you so much for the comment and sharing your thoughts. There is definitely some profound stuff here. :) I like how you recognized the 'is' version the dash. A person is like light which means we all have darkness as well. Definitely a mystery. I think we can know someone pretty well over time learning a lot about them and how they think, their desires, likes and dislikes, and so on... But can we know someone completely? There will always be things we don't know hidden in those deeper recesses. But some mystery leaves something to be learned in the future. ;)
I am really happy you liked it and I love your description. I think you could really see a lot of the intention in this. There is so much mystery and answers do tend to only convey more questions. This is so true. Thank you so much again for the insightful feedback! 💪

Love your homage to the good men of the world. Your lyricism is dazzling in its imagery and structure. But the heart here won my heart. I felt your love of the men you admire like an ocean breeze that tells me you love those men. And the depth of your words made this more than an ordinary ode but one of depth and breadth. There is magic here to illuminate the male gender in all the way women love them.

Thank you so much for the absolutely wonderful comment John. I don't know what to say. I am so happy you like the imagery and structure. But especially winning your heart. ;) I am glad you could feel the love too. Your words truly make me think I may have accomplished what I was attempting which makes me feel good. I especially like "more than an ordinary ode". :) There is so much negativity I think it's important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge some good things and spread some magic. 💪

I liked this. Once you find a solid, loyal man, he's good for life. I've always said that people of substance and character will always enhance other peoples lives.
Great write Kristina.

Love it. This verse so true:
Man's character - like a straight line,
Where on the breaks it is piercingly sharp,
But all the same gives up, slowly burning,
Desiring affection and feminine warmth

I am so happy you loved it Solomon, and thank you for stepping back with me to read and provide your thoughts. It can be so great to go back and relive those things you felt when writing and know that someone else still appreciates them too. Sending you some affection and feminine warmth. ;)

I think it's important to acknowledge the beautiful things in life. Those things that make you feel good, both men and women. The differences that compliment each other so amazingly and the similarities too. So often only the negatives are concentrated on and I think that's a dangerous precedence that just makes everyone more unhappy. Relationships can be very hard but they are worth it and even necessary for survival in many ways. I love that you like my scope and style. I never thought I had much of a style to my writing but perhaps I do. :) Thanks so much for taking a step back to read this one. Actually you might like Your... Masculine along the lines of appreciation.
