I define.
a sort of teetering
on a precipice
insight and clarity
from tired meek
to almost fully heard
Oh to roar
allowing for unselfish focus
doubts drift
stresses of unsure
or insufferable insecure
s l i p a w a y
silent bursts
of all that's etched
to marvel in
hard fought, learned
permeate from inside out
i glow in raw iridescence
a fresh breeze mixed
with antiseptic sunshine
dispelling
desperate smoke
of self righteous blown
into it's very nothing
my hands
are so much stronger now
lungs breathing surety
bigger still,
my genuine heart—
swollen
of all it's uses that certain sparkle
fought in fearless and in kindness
unleashed of wrongful burden
never full of
or fully.
A belief in all that's just,
found by true battle worn
harsh, devoted effort
and those promises,
promises
safely sealed within all my hallmarks
.... a forever me, reminder.

There is a very profound message in all this which I appreciate even more now as I grow older. Perhaps the melancholic in me listens to the undertones of battles fought, won and lost, all the scars now like medals of honor and bravery even for the heartache once endured.
