To all those that Dare
The well-trodden paths are beautiful, without flaws
And their trampled cover is smooth
There are no cobblestones, stones and sharp edges
There are signs from the words
The route is paved and it seems so boring
And every turn is predictable
And every step is already learned by passers-by
Everything is known there, in general
The peaks cannot be conquered in advance -
there are only plateaus
And all the rivers and seas are tamed
And the wind spreads at your feet quite calmly
Never knowing about storms
What boredom! With the crowd, losing their will
From point A to drag to point B...
And the wings are tied so tightly behind the back
And it's cramped, stuffy, fresh in the crowd!
The soul screams - there are other roads
Impenetrable dangerous paths!
But there is scope, there is will, there is freedom!
And my heart beats so loudly in my chest
And it can be scary to most -
The limit is not visible to the eye of those roads
Not many agree to be the first
And who dared, and did not dare
But there are those, challenging fate
And sending fear, peace and pain to hell
They step barefoot over the cliff
Driven only by the wind and the dream
They are honest, stubborn, incorruptible
their Universe is equal to the Soul
And if I ask - how did you live?
They will answer - it does not seem in vain!
Such are the only roads for me...
And their trampled cover is smooth
There are no cobblestones, stones and sharp edges
There are signs from the words
The route is paved and it seems so boring
And every turn is predictable
And every step is already learned by passers-by

Author's Note
I am always drawn to off the beaten path and I always will be. It was very hard having my whole life erased and being dropped in another country when I was young and being taken to some very off-the-path places but all of the pain and many trials helped to define me. And the only path I long for now is the one least traveled.
The picture is a "road" in the far reaches of Eastern Europe and I remember how we were lost in the mountains for a full day without seeing a single other person and I was at peace. Although it did sound like the axle broke more than once that little car was a damn trooper. I wish I could feel that again.

Re. To all those that Dare
This has an interesting and paradoxical personal connection for me. I often walk a couple of miles for my health, noisy cars on the avenues, people honking and hollering and I wonder what it would be like to walk in a place quiet, where the silence is swallowing and deafening. You strike a fine and poignant balance of dimensions here: monologue, milieu, oscillating in a mellifluous unfolding. Also reminds me of Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, that fierce, independent, soulful journey into the untamed, where you meet the world and yourself. Beautiful work.

I was certain you would connect with this one from your writing. As usual, I absolutely adore your incredibly meaningful feedback. The most soulful journeys where you meet the world and yourself are also the most difficult ones in my opinion. Thanks for leaving me your thoughts Daniel and I am really happy you found it beautiful work. 💖 xoxo

..loving this personal and inspirational write. I adore your strength in prose with your personal reflective journey in life. You are a fearless trail blazer. You move me when you speak of the challenges of your own odyssey in life. I commend you on your resilience and wisdom with the realization that no matter how complicated and painful moving as a youth across the world has been that you have never been closer to where you belong! Beautiful KX!!!

Thanks FF, I am happy you can experience a tiny part of my journey with me through my writing. I really like fearless trail blazer but actually there is so much in your beautiful comment that I am having a really hard time responding to every aspect. Your words and sentiment are perfect and I think I like this the best of any you have left for me and I appreciate it so much. 💖 xoxo

Oh you stole my heart with the formatting part, I am so impatient with that stuff. But really you actually did with the whole comment, this is one of the absolute best ever. Thanks PoetSpeak. 💖 xoxo

I knew you would be ready to raise some hell in the wild, lost place so I hoped you would read this one. Canada certainly has it's share of remote and extreme places. You might even get to boss some Eskimos around. (that's a joke, I think) 💖 xoxo

Dear Kristina, i admire the adventures you've had and this piece is so imdicative of the free spirit you've cultivated from your experiences.
I can learn from your propensity for risk taking. I love the fiercness of this passage,
"But there are those, challenging fate
And sending fear, peace and pain to hell"
While facing your hardest reality remember this poem and to lean on good memories and reach out for help. You're awesome❤

Thanks GW, definitely a free spirit and maybe I will write more about the adventures in the future. Thank you, that last part really means so much to me. I am not really good at asking for help or have to many people I can ask in regards to some things. You're awesome too. 💖 xoxo

Dear K,
I’ve just been on the most incredible walk ever! Without the photo your written description of this road was spectacular such that I could imagine my own path. Making my way through previously undiscovered and hidden trails. The addition of the photo was a treat as it leant itself even more to your memory of this spot and creating your own, untrodden road in life. Thoroughly delightful and I might say brave. While I will cop to enjoying a jaunt outside, heaven help me if I’m caught out with no snacks or god forbid no bathroom! I’m afraid to say that would be a real deal breaker. Switching the subject to formatting, I think it’s great. I like how you’ve bolded words to emphasize certain aspects, and italicized others to almost gently reinforce and support your meaning. It was a splendid adventure all around. H🌷

Re: Re. To all those that Dare
I have another photo but it does not look like a road, or even a path, at all so I thought it would detract from the piece. It basically is rocks and water. lol Had we become stranded it would have been a real problem, we were literally in the middle of nowhere, and there was no mobile phone service and apparently the route was not taken by anyone in late fall (which it was), or probably any other time. Apparently GPS is not to be trusted in some countries. lol And when I say a day, it was at least 24 hours of driving with nothing, no houses, no people, nothing. When night fell and we would stop sometimes we could hear the wolves. Okay, now I am really over the moon because that is exactly what I wanted with the formatting BUT I did a single impatient pass and did not even go back over it to try and make sure I chose the right words and such. Once and done and the hell with it. lol Thank you so much for taking this adventure with me in writing. As always, I am so happy you liked it and absolutely love your comments. 💖 xoxo

From childhood I was drawn to the tougher routes, climbing stupid dangerous things, being the one to go first in a "Dare". Then I became disabled paths id normally take became harder. Then years later I became paralyzed. But the paths are different now they have their own difficulties
But still I press on. WHO DARES WINS as they say
Brilliant loved it, inspirational piece
Love and light

Thanks Ron, you are a real inspiration! I can only imagine the difficulties you have faced and yet you persevere and share your beautiful writing despite any trials and pain that life has dealt you. There has been so much progress in the medical field that I can only hope and pray that one day you will be able to do things that might be limited today. 💖 xoxo

Well done Kristina, this speaks in the spirit of freedom and adventure. It's for those who take the risk to explore and discover when the heart longs to wander.
I tip my hat, hope your path is just as filled with excitement and wonder as this piece.

Thanks for the great comment, Wally; you sure did hit on so many points. Freedom, adventure, risk, exploration, discovery, excitement, and wonder. Perfectly said, I think that about covers it. We need excitement and wonder or else things become monotonous, mediocre, and boring; and we can't have that. :) 💖 xoxo
