Kama Muta

I warm my bones
beside the fire,
reflecting in those
glowing embers

I shiver

blood rushes
like a flowing river,
returning feeling
to starving fingers

darling

let me linger
a little longer
in the
radiance of
your love

shining brightly

as the night
becomes the day
and darkness
melts away,
making way
for lighter shades

smiles of sunrise

tantalized, I lie
beneath her
ripe tangerine skies,
and I'm finding
my way to that
perfect place

I can almost taste it

two souls
humming
in perfect harmony,
dismantling
the numbing armory
that guards
our hearts

alas, a familiar spark

lighting the path,
guiding us back
to a place where
it's no longer dark
