Mine To Slay
What have I become
A whisper fading
Shadow losing form
Missing footsteps
Soul vacuuming
Emptiness
Creeping along life
An annoyance
Crawling sensation
Walking corpse
Defective heartless
Rubbing salt in wounds
Languishing
Anguishing
In depressions puddle
Not drowning
Just soaking
Marinading in its bile
I never fear it
Have welcomed it
A few times
The reaper knows me
Occasionally
We’ve been on nodding terms
I fight alone
It’s mine to slay
Sometimes weak
I let it overwhelm
But eventually
I dig myself out
A whisper fading
Shadow losing form
Missing footsteps
Soul vacuuming
Emptiness
Creeping along life
An annoyance
Crawling sensation
Walking corpse
Defective heartless
Rubbing salt in wounds
Languishing
Anguishing
In depressions puddle
Not drowning
Just soaking
Marinading in its bile
I never fear it
Have welcomed it
A few times
The reaper knows me
Occasionally
We’ve been on nodding terms
I fight alone
It’s mine to slay
Sometimes weak
I let it overwhelm
But eventually
I dig myself out
