Mermaid Waves

The sea-
it beckons me  
speaks to my soul  
whispers of  
it's secret mysteries  
so far down below  
  
I have never    
seen a mermaid  
although I've no doubt  
that they exist  
among the dolphins  
the octopi and fish  
   
There's something    
so alluring about the tales  
that I've been told  
of mermaids luring men  
to their deaths    
both young and old
