stardust

 
I ache in the aether
my soul in transition breathes stardust
taking in what I need  
ridding myself of collateral damage
 
I've always felt them
the winds of change
known ahead of time things would be shifting
I feel it in the air now
the hour is late for me
 
I spin in the eternal
the Earth's axis rotates delivering me--
to my place in the universe
 
I will be on time with my date with destiny
not a moment too soon or too late
each person set in my trajectory
was put in my path to gain knowledge from
 
I glean what I can from every situation
pain one of the great teachers leveling the field
all of us reminded of our humanity

lest we forget
