Be an Angel
Sorry to piss on peoples cheerios
for some, this is a very dark time of year
a very lonely and sadness filled
what increases more than any time of year
thoughts of morbidity and committing suicide
If everyone does at least one visit to
a person lonely and vulnerable they will give
the one gift that everyone needs
Love, Hope and faith to carry on
all wrapped up in a bow
called life
try to save at least one
I can feel the darkness rolling in
like an almost unstoppable force
it seeps under the floorboards
getting through draughty window frames
getting in to and through the keyhole
creating the walls porous and foggy
you are the central point
it creeps steadily towards you
touching your feet then up to your knees
blanketing your knees and waistline
painful and as it comes up to your chest
slowly up your neck starting to strangle
it is vital you don't swallow
If you swallow you are lost
you will be drowned in the darkness
Something to have by your phone
people you can phone when you're alone
A relative, a friend, a pastor or organisation
that does not want you life to end
if you need a couple of brandies for courage
then do so, then pick up the phone
no help from the first one
call the second one then the third one
just don't give up and keep calling
even when weeping and bawling
there are angels of mercy out there
not many for they are quite rare.
My Christmas wish for you is that you
find an angel of mercy
and much-needed rescue
everyone can play there part
all you need is a genuine heart
love and light be upon you all
but remember caring
for humans and puppies
is not just for Christmas
