Three from my Bed
Descent
It’s not the ascent that kills you
but the descent -
gravity pulls you down
back into the valley
where shadows are longer.
Definition of Loneliness
I have been walking a long way
and not met a single poem.
Someone Suggested …
... after the next election
there would be a hung parliament.
Great idea
I thought ...

Thank you Rose. I reckon I'm over the worst now but still shuffling around the place like a half-awake space-cake :))

Thanks very much BT - I'm on your side with the second one as No:1 choice - it was one of those where you think you know what you're going to write on the next line but when you get there you find yourself writing something a little bit different from expected - the muse at work - the surprise in the creative process - such moments make it all worth while.

I just had the same experience yesterday when thinking about socks morphed into a love poem.... it went deeper than I expected, and I kept trying to pull it back to frivolity but the muse just wouldn't have it!
I agree, those moments are the best.

Illness doesn't diminish your eloquence in the slightest Josh. I hope you're feeling better. Do what you gotta do to take care of you

LOL! These are the kind of thoughts I have when I'm under the weather, Josh. It's like a succession from dark dreams to waking reality. The second one really touched me; I have felt that way many times.
Good to see you back and glad you're on the mend, Josh.

"Descent" is right on the money... it's the down-climb where you get hurt... pushing muscles already tired...to extra precision and care...which under the circumstances...is a commodity rare.
" Loneliness" seems familiar...like a bad case of delirium...but it's been a while since my muse has chosen to abandon me...to suffer in feverish misery... my thanks to the gods of poetry...may you be rewarded post haste...
As for the post election suggestion...
Oh how I would like to see...Congress hung out to dry...thank you for the sickbed prompt...I'll sing you a political lullaby...hugs... Ely

Ain't that the truth. Preach it brother.
Solid ink, Josh. Makes one pause to think.

I've still got some mending to do myself. I've taken off my finger splints to write a few comments. You remain a fine poet despite your malady.

Hello Crow again. Finger-splints? I've been away in U.K and not being paying attention except have noticed you being away some time until just now. Sounds like something nasty; hope you are well on the road to recovery. Best regards, Josh.

Thanks Harry again for reading, and for the RL. Not sure if the U.K manufactures sisal rope any more - if not, better order some before the borders close. :))
