poets
the emotionally charged
overloaded motherfuckers
who don't see nothing
beyond their selves
it is always
invariably
about their pain
their suffer(ing)
their hunger
their needs
oblivious to their inflicting
of grief
on others
with their ego-verse-centric
deeds
blunders
stuff ups
disdains
and yet
they think the universe
is out to get them
fuck you poet!
fuck you!
fuuuuuuuckkkk! youuuuuuuu!!
now go ahead
and call the above drivel
poetry!
you're welcome ;-)

well indeed it is and yes to all you said! not set out to ruffle feathers but to put out my observation of both self and in general in unvarnished way i felt it ought to.
humbled. you liked.

All artists are selfish to a degree - they are more oft than not forced to choose to create over societal expectations as a whole.
I learned a lot about selfishness in 2018 - what I observed is how those who deem others selfish are typically upset because the person is actually catering to their own needs vs serving another.
I'm not referring to those with personality disorders, e.g. - narcissism, sociopaths, etc. Nor am I referring to your observations. I'm referring to the everyday Joe who wants to live life for himself vs catering to others all the time.
Also, I wonder if anything can be poetry if written in poetic form . . .

Welcome dear Sage One!
indeed they are and yes i would even go further than you in saying more often they are moulded by societal expectations and their own circumstances.
i admire your mature observation re those judging others as selfish being the upset one. It takes great deal of patience, tolerance and objectivity to reach that conslusion. No harm in caring for self. In fact one can only care for other when one is fit enough to do so... moderation and avoiding the extremes in anything is the key i believe.
And well it is upto the person/reader recipient to determine for themselves what they find artistic/poetic... highly subjective point. And seriously who determines what's art... what's art to some is blashpemy to others and vice versa ..
the observation started as a self reflection over some recent past events where the focus was lost to those were in urgent needs versus own woe is me stuff...
welcome your wisdom dear A! open arms!

Jadey... hope you didn't get it wrong.. i left that Author's not very clear... and you are one of those select few selfless souls i am referring to. And the poets...well you know very well those that care not about the hurt to the ones helping them ...

This is basically what the crazy bitch inside my head says to me (about me) whenever I actually take some time to care about myself....

Re. poets
Heh, you are absolutely right. It is a selfish endeavor, but the sense of community that it creates in a setting like this is wonderful. It seems you're a bit ticked in this one, so I think you've expressed your frustrations well.

Hahaha....lots of truth in there. Never hurts to have a good rant. That's a stereotype though. Not all of us are like that. I see it here in the forum quite a bit though. It's actually kind of amusing to me.
