See You Never

You have no morals
And no integrity
I made excuse after excuse for you
But you�re an adult
You should have honoured your word
When you said you would never hurt me again
In that way
You should have been able to control yourself

I will not tolerate it anymore
I will not tolerate the mistreatment you dish out
Again and again
Because it will never end

My sympathy and empathy for you is drained
I tried so much
I gave so much
And in return
I received nothing

I can�t change you
How you act
I can�t love you into a better person
You are what you are
It is what it is

But what I can do is step away
Heal the holes in my soul
That your bullets of hatred left

Sow up my wounds
Bandage my heart
Create an environment for me to grow

The only way I can recover
Is if I stop giving you power
And permission to break me

In the end I take comfort knowing
You lost someone
Who would have given you everything
But all I lost was someone who would use me
Then watch me cry and demand for more

Do you think you�ll find someone else
Who could forgive you for all those terrible things
And then still look at you with love?

Maybe you will
Maybe you�ll find another pawn
I�ve seen the pile of bodies
You�ve already burned through
I thought I was strong enough
But I broke just like the rest

So continue on your path of destruction
While I lay free gazing at the stars
I don�t wish you ill will
But I�ll never again let you cause me harm
