Heart's Hopes Lost

I walked alone along a dirt road
I was down and truly out
I looked for a sign just sign
I seen something in the distance

I gazed  at you from afar
As blossoms fell from ancient trees
on grounds with history etched
grooves of barks gently touched

History is about to be made
A look a touch you sooth me
I feel haunted I still want you
Memories remain in these roots

Yes, memories, you grew distant
You left for where I couldn’t go
like a fluttery butterfly I waved
left for my home shrouded in sadness

I went deep into my soul there I stayed
Healing took too long without you there
I seen a beauty that you had given away
A trust lost to another I was lost in time

Trust wasn’t born of my passion
carved in my bones the sorrow
a wish a star each night
that time turns us as before

I’m tired of this torment
I struggle to keep it all together
I want what I’ve lost, no time left
Going to try and sleep leave it behind

Torment shall leave you
but for eternity you will remember
a beginning of shining hopes
to yearnings wrapped in dusts and ashes.
