Cerebral Attraction
let me caress your cerebrum
embrace your amygdala
make love to your
molecules
i will tickle
those twisted
neurotransmitters
fill each synapse with sin
till your oxytocins are flowing
let me excite your receptors
activate your pineal gland
and stimulate your cells
i will kiss you in verses
merge with you in words
intertwine with your rhyme
synchronize with each syllable
while i flirt with your frontal lobe
i will slip my ink into your brain
submerge you in my stanzas
let you reach poetic peaks
i will tease your cortex
entangle with your fornix
tantalize your hypothalamus
until you’re lost in temptation
in rhythmical sensation
in lyrical vibration
in mental stimulation
and cerebral penetration
until your cells shiver
your neurons moan
and your axons explode
embrace your amygdala
make love to your
molecules
i will tickle
those twisted
neurotransmitters
fill each synapse with sin
till your oxytocins are flowing
let me excite your receptors
activate your pineal gland
and stimulate your cells
i will kiss you in verses
merge with you in words
intertwine with your rhyme

I will have to say very pleasing to the ear as I read this out loud and very teasing to the eye as I scanned each line. Very impressive! Can't wait to read the next one!

Very impressive? I can't ask for more...
This poem will indeed benefit from being read out loud (I think) and as for the visual aspect... most of my work is formatted in one way or another. I try to let that go, but my mind is kinda stubborn...

i loved how your train of thought & diction were in constant tune with your subject! gosh too clever for words really to bring the physical mind & the intellectual to touch between the lines.
a mindgasm for sure

When I started writing I wrote one poem after the other, but the last months the words don't flow as freely as they used to do (damn, I need to get me a muse) I'm really happy you think that what I post is spectacular... thank you so much for your amazing comment... it means a lot to me! xXx

cool mix of cold neurochemistry/anatomy facts with poetic facts
yet... I'm more interested in the poetic facts you have in you and can't formulate with material explanations!

Thank you for your comment and your honesty, I'm glad you found it a cool mix!
I agree with you that it's artificial, but I've written many deeply personal poems and sometimes I just like to play with words (to balance it out a bit) and this came to me right before drifting into sleep and I follow the words/ideas wherever they may take me...

It's not artificial at all. It is really a cool mix. Poetic facts reveal here behind the material explanations, similarly to the exhaustive listings of things in Walt Whitman's poetry. Idea is great.

Sapiosexuality takes the concept of social intercourse to new heights. We love a well-turned phrase, but only a few actually love the phrase turner for this facility. We can appreciate good design, musicianship, in depth understanding, fine communication skills, but there is a step beyond appreciation alone. My own belief is that this ardent warmth towards complex conversation reflects our desire to be understood. The observer may or not have this facility, but may only enjoy it in others. The seduction is in the sharing. Some share admiration, and some dangle their ability as a worm on a hook to intice others into exotic self-disclosures. Nakedness of mind overpowers nudity of body any day, for sapiosexuals, IMHO.

"Nakedness of mind overpowers nudity of body any day" > exactly that! I think our thoughts, desires, fantasies, insecurities are way more vulnerable than the skin we're in and if someone is able to push the right buttons and strip my mind... the body will respond...
Thank you for you extensive comment and for sharing your thoughts!

As a scientist and a romantic, you appealed to two integral parts of my personality. I think your poem was well-written, creative, and very intimate in it's own unique way. You are talented :)

Wow! What a clever write but it is more than that, it is a mood, a vibe also. But what is an axon? lol. This poem is far too clever for me but I can see why your words might seem seductive. I can see folk drowning in your thoughts.

Thank you so much for your comment, I really appreciate it! An axon is the part of the neuron that is responsible for conducting electrical signals, but in all honesty... I had to do a bit of research for this piece (lol) I thought (hoped) people could feel it without having all the knowledge...

Re. Cerebral Attraction
I don’t even want to think about how much time you had to spend researching neuro-terms to pull off the fantastic wordplay in this (unless you’ve just been a neuro-surgeon this whole time too and we never knew). It’s funny, this is the second time I’ve come across the sapiophile term on this site (Jade-Panda first introduced me) and it seems very much to apply to a lot of what I read here, too many attractive minds and talents...
“In lyrical vibration
in mental stimulation
and cerebral penetration”
That right there is the definition of being simultaneously smart and sexy.
Kinda like sapiophilia...
Skilled, artful, and physical-reaction inducing as ever, Duende; I’m forever impressed and never surprised

Forever impressed and never surprised? Wow... can't ask for more!
You are right... this one requested some research (definitely not a neuro-surgeon) The idea started long before the inspiration arrived (I'm fascinated by the brain, so things like neurons & amygdala where already in my head waiting to be written down)
Jade is my sapio sister, but I think most poets are sapiosexuals. Great to hear you enjoyed this one and thank you so much for leaving another amazing comment!

Clever - sometimes brains can be a stronger aphrodisiac than beauty. (That picture does it for me, a beautiful woman in glasses can be intriguing.)

Our brain being our biggest sexual organ, so that can certainly be a strong aphrodisiac.
