Because
Because I love, I weep when night falls.
To see less ordinary miracles
than by day, when the moon cannot feign
its inexhaustible light.
Because I love, I write about the
saddest moments.
Of the daughters of the Pleiades
rising in my eyes,
and the faces of my unborn children.
Shadows of reeds o'er me
when I'm gone, who's roots would
embrace me tenderly
as he does now, not worthy this pain
indulging the fragrance that
conceals my absence
despite what cannot be spoken
and the broken whorls of my fingertips.
To reach but not touch,
while unknowingly,
the saddest moments I write
Because I love.

This would be a beautiful ballad Jade, quite a contender for the "Songwriter" comp. This has tenderness and delicacy even in the saddest moments. I love this just "Because."

Have you ever cast your eyes across the poem "Tonight, I can write the saddest lines" by Pablo Neruda? I have a feeling you would enjoy this particular work if this poem is anything to go by.
Thank you for the read.
