Chocolate that warms from under your eyelashes.
Chocolate, around your mouth it's bitter,
sweet for a moment.
Your face is smooth and says.
You're in love,
don't tell anyone.
How your eyes shine.
In love, don't want to change anything about it.
What your body feels,
a hot palm,
your heart beats fast.
Like sugar your gaze dissolves.
Like bitter coffee that's sweet at the end.
Like a dessert that no one likes,
I want sweet coffee, like you.

Been Here Before
I rode in on a dream
Among the snow and glitter
Saw my mother dressed in leather
With holsters and guns
Younger then me
On a horse with a smile
Hair all curled up like she does
Always waiting on me
I can smell the rain
The falling current of time
Every tightening yet never hurried
Along this mountainside
There she goes
Forward into the storm
Building for some time it seems
Crowning these ridges
Never looking back
Mom just moves further ahead
A horn of fire in her satchel ...

I try to read from your gray eyes
where your blue has gone.
Why are you so ordinary, why have you no color.
The blue from under your eyelashes always shone,
pink face.
Why is everything suddenly dark,
gray like a wall.

Returning on a jet plane...
(Paul Harvey used to give "...the rest of the story" on the radio. The same radio played songs that gave us a glimpse into song character's lives but are never revisited! Even worse when the singer dies! I hated that! One of the songs I always felt needed an ending was...John Denver's: "Leaving on a jet plane." So, I present...Returning on a jet plane. would you please
be my friend
I’m so lonely
a year past thirty
and I think I’ve been alone
where it counts
most of my life
no matter how I’ve tried
to be worth anybody’s time
that’s fine
I’ll do it on my own
as much as I can
but a one man band
only has so many hands
and I thought that family
was supposed to understand
I’ve run out of miracle plans
my heart caves in like sinking sand
so no, I won’t come
worship your god on Sundays
learn how I need to
suffer...
