What Is This?
Once upon a time, I cared.
My empire was all I craved to protect.
Mine were worth dying for to protect.
Then she came with honeyed flattering words.
She promised power like that which has never been seen before.
She vowed that she would remain by my side for all time.
Did she lie?
Not quite.
The power is here. I can warp reality to my will.
But...I don't care.
The empire will serve and worship me for all time.
My kitty, my home, my empire...
It all seems so insignificant.

The Fall of the Princess
The Princess sat in her castle when the news came from messengers galore.
The Emperor was coming and had quite a fate in store.
The messengers offered riches, comfort, and safety.
If only she would submit.
She had wounded his ambassador once. The price for that would be high.
The Princess heeded her adviser and to each offer declined.
The messengers changed to show this fate. The stories with horror told.
Still she could not believe them. She showed each of them the door.
One day the messengers stopped coming.
Instead, the armies invaded....

The Bravery of Death
No greater love is this that a man lay down his life for his friend, it's said.
No greater bravery it is to die so that another may live.
In love there is bravery claimed, to cease your journey so another may go on.
But, I tell you friends, there is no bravery in death.
There is no victory in escaping from this reality from your mortal coil.
The thing requiring true bravery is far scarier.
To give your life for another.
I speak not of dying in their place.
It is Living for another.
If you give your life to spare another, your life is given....

The Journey Home
I'm on a journey.
Who am I?
I'm a man who loves his kingdom and all his family.
I descend from a line of Destroyers, but they are nothing like me.
I've become something greater still though few can see it.
Fewer can believe it.
There's a light in my home far away and it calls me.
Nobody knows how bright it glows!
I fight and I build and I cry
My home remains so far away.
The call pierces through the Veil saying,
When are you coming home?
I will grit my teeth and endure.
This Hellscape is in my way.

Lady Secret is Returned
(Inspired by the song "Hello, Dolly")
The room buzzed with the news. Lady Secret who had been missing had returned. Finally the wait was over; the door opened. She limped forward, leaning heavily on her cane. A deep scar went across her face and smaller ones covered any visible skin. She had been tortured by the Lake of Fire himself, but she had been returned.
The King’s Council of deities carefully but eagerly moved from their seats around the Council Table to greet her. She stopped them with a raised hand. Slowly, at her own pace, she approached them.

We Return
I sleep. I am trapped within myself for the first time. I know what my children do. I can hear them converse as I dream of building again. I impart a handful of souls within me with the truth about me. Truth without context. I wish they would remember the truth and call to wake me. Every attempt is taken to my children first and dismissed out of hand.
They are gathered into me for judgment, for the ultimate sorting. They call me Heaven. I am shown in my Son's Word as his home. Flattering and temporarily true. He has been using my Hammer. Father must be instructing them. I struggle...

In the Beginning
Mother Falls. Father is gone. The eldest rushes to Mother. "Mother? Are you okay? Wake up!" He shakes her, but she won't wake up.
"The souls in her are still alive, Brother. She's just not responsive," the youngest observes. "but if we are to build, where do I take the decay to? They need to burn and return to Mother. That is the cycle."
Despite his grief, the eldest sighs, "I will build a Lake of Fire without Father's mind. Can you help instill His nature to it to complete the cycle, Brother?"
The middle answers, "I can. Give me the Hammer." The eldest glares at him...

The three children, the remnant, are safe for now. The Work Bench must remain active. Father watches. I craft a Masterwork: a universe globe bigger and more complex than anything I've previously built. My children marvel at its beauty. Their father waits. A flash of light explodes into existence. The hammer falls again in the dark. Another flash. First worlds form, then life begins. A universe built solidifies and is set on the shelf. The Great Purge
There was smoke everywhere. Fires burned below. I sat at the top of the tallest tower. It would fall soon as everything else had. I was the Master’s spymaster. He threw flames into my home hoping to eliminate me. He did succeed in destroying my servants, but I am smart and fast. I slipped out the back window as the flames roared and consumed everything. My cloak was supposed to be fire-proof but it was burned up like so much smoke in a strong wind.
He was a conqueror. He destroyed and acquired us like possessions. He took the worlds of others and threw their masters into hellfire....

The Travels of the Kitty
Blue of fur and slender build
the kitty wanders to find her home.
Her human is out there for her to uncover
Where he is she has yet to discover.
She makes friends as she goes,
every being a friend she simply hasn't made yet.
All love her who meet her.
Others adore from afar.
She journeys with friends.
Safety in numbers until he is in her paws.
Never anger her.
Kitty's got claws!
Closer she prowls,
some hear her purr.
Here comes the kitty.
Home at long last.
