Dyrewind
they call the wind mariah in a land where it
cannonballs down from the mountain like an
express train. across northern plains & provincial
villages, beneath a sky where the stars glow red,
scirocco is the name of the wind.
in my city of thievery & the hunger of the wolf, it’s
Dyrewind: just that ill-spoken word, & nothing more.
Dyrewind surrounds a man, & stirs up a sinful, carnal
craving in his loins. it condemns a woman to that
same vicious yearning.
my Jeep is buffeted like a paper boat in a flood as I
drive to her house. I struggle up the stairs & pound on
her door. when she lets me in, I embrace her so tightly
that she might break into little twinkling stars & float
away from me.
I stop only to throw off my wet clothes as she removes
her robe. we fall onto the bed, smelling the odor of
sex uprising.
as Dyrewind howls in the night, I am sucking like leeches
upon her throat, across her captive breasts, biting her
spiking nipples; my lips & tongue burning further down
her quivering belly.
I come to her open thighs, & assault her humid peach flesh
with my French kiss, as if I seek her innermost fire, & my
tongue can’t go deep enough.
when her mad desire boils beyond logic, she grabs my hair
& pleads, ‘can you fuck me baby, can you fuck me?!’
and so I impale her, filling her slick channel, feeling her grip
my savage enragement. we moan like tigers in some
scarletting jungle; we ride a trail of friction skyward to the
breaking storm of joy & sorrow….. all the while Dyrewind
shouts our names!
…we lie there in the silence of submission; I drift in the rivers
of her eyes, as Dyrewind dares us to sleep…

Oh. Dear. Lord. I need a damn shower. A very cold one.
And maybe a cigarette.
And maybe a cigarette.

Kickass poetry, John . . . Loved this stanza . . .
"as Dyrewind howls in the night, I am sucking like leeches
upon her throat, across her captive breasts, biting her
spiking nipples; my lips & tongue burning further down
her quivering belly."
I am there with you . . .

"when she lets me in, I embrace her so tightly
that she might break into little twinkling stars & float

Your style of writing has an epic feel at the opening and then the paragraph with "I come to her open thighs..." that made me nod my head saying damn.
Bravo John.

I love the urgency of that stanza...
it's the point around which the poem rotates for me
Excellent write!

Dyrewind.. .
this is one enthralling,
beautiful tangible piece..
I love and love your
distinctness here.. you
place her in your hands
and sight..until you two
fall into each others,
expanses..
How beautiful and bold
is that..
My Feddler dear, this is
a feel good one .. a
change.. and I love it

More explicit than your usual works John, and you wield it really, really well. Love the mystical environmental driver in this piece - there is something extremely sexy about storm-driven passion.
Amazing work as always John.
