Love this...was devastated. Music you connect too. Songs that seem like best friends or morphine when you hurt...or wanna celebrate with when youre happy....
Its just such a tangeble rich connection...and i worship the artists that do that for me in an almost religious way...Bowie was one of those.
You hit that intimacy here...very nice.

Last summer out of the blue I bought 16 Bowie cds and listened to them for 3 months on my vintage cobalt blue portable cd player.  Often times in a big black comfy chair sipping quality alcohol.  For a couple of years I listened  only to a greatest hits collection, which is phenomenal in itself but suddenly I wanted to know more, like what was in between all those hits.  My take away is almost everything he did was a hit.  I was totally blown away both in his life's work and now with his untimely passing.  Like all the others that left to soon,  we mourn them and we continue to iisten ...

Bottoms up babe

You may have realised that I don't think much of the human race and I certainly, over the years have had very few personal heroes - David Bowie was one of the few, not only for his obvious musical and acting talent but also for being an icon recommending that everyone should live their life their way and the rest be damned - he is such a huge loss and he will remain my hero, I probably feel the same way now as Lennon fans felt it is all so very sad.

We can be heroes - just for one day :-)
