missing her

knowing a bridge approaches
our time is spent like a drunken slur
she will look at me in sadness
because I have been missing

she came to me like a falling star
in the nighttime strobing blur
i listened to the beats she sang
and in the silence I miss

i discovered my enraptured interest
of mind and words that are sure
as I stroked that flawless body
knowing i would be missing

our tryst was flighty and tangent
that bucked our senses pure
the feeling at the base of my heart
swelling in this poem for

i am afraid to show myself
for the shadows it will stir
if I talk about my darker ways
i fear that I will miss

the kiss, the laugh, the flirty smile
when I think of how we were
but the day came that i knew it would
where i said i would miss

she said we can never be together
our time is fleeting, i prefer
i put on a tough guy act of understanding
but still crying cause i miss
