-twinkle in the dark
This was inspired the other night when I noticed a friend looking at her boyfriend. It's quite something to actually get the feeling I got from randomly noticing her look at him at a bar on karaoke night, hah.
I said: Look at the way she looks at you...
He answered: I know, she's my queen...
the way she looks at him
reveals a blissful reverie
shining brighter than
any ordinary dream
for in that moment her eyes
are a gateway to the stars
giving two hearts hope
like a twinkle fighting for a chance
to light forevers dawn
and for him, her ardent gaze
can take back everything
love once lost to darkness;
so he willingly surrenders his kingdom
having found his queen
his twinkle, in the dark...

i dunno if you've ever read patrick rothfuss (yea i know you & books, but still) it's beautiful prose & this twinkle of yours reminded me of maybe my favourite passage every about falling in love ....
"It was worth blood and the fear of death to see her fall in love with him. Just a little. Just the first faint breath of love, so light she probably didn’t notice it herself. It wasn’t dramatic, like some bolt of lightning with a crack of thunder following. It was more like when flint strikes steel and the spark fades almost too fast for you to see. But still,
you know it’s there, down where you can’t see, kindling."
Patrick Rothfuss, The Wise Man's Fear
... dunno why i thought of that o.O but i did
anyhoo, this is beautifully written, Eddie, subtle & sure
much enjoyed

Thanks so much for sharing. I loved that piece, especially the opening...
You always have something worth sharing. Don't forget that when it's dark, my dear. ..

It's a beautiful thang' to witness 'what love looks like', isn't it?!
This is a lovely observation Fenom, penned with tenderness....

To notice expressions of others, one's surroundings, the beauty of life in general before expressing it is a gift.
