The Sir To Come

Helene seems a little cool, unimpressed
By my demands that she submit
My insistence that she "call me Master"
With the adulation reserved for a prince
Helene indicates that I'm "too nice"
My show of arrogance just that:
A show
Lacking the conviction to back it up
Or a hand that's firm but never cruel
Gifted in the ways of discipline
Allowing her the knowledge that she's safe
Curled in the shelter of my shadow
"Perhaps one day," she sighs,
"You'll learn to capture me
Then become the Sir of my mind, body
And soul."
