Memories of a Rainy Day
The rain fell today
soaking me in its coldness
as I stood in the middle
of the grassy field
yellow flower pollen
stuck on my skirt
under the rain
I thought of you
as my vision blurred
lost in the cascades
trying to feel the warmth
of your hands leading me away
the rain kept falling
drenching me through
I can only think of you
warmly tucked at the fireside
reading a book with the light
flickering as it consumed the wood.
soaking me in its coldness
as I stood in the middle
of the grassy field
yellow flower pollen
stuck on my skirt
under the rain
I thought of you
as my vision blurred
lost in the cascades
trying to feel the warmth
of your hands leading me away
the rain kept falling
drenching me through
I can only think of you
warmly tucked at the fireside
reading a book with the light
flickering as it consumed the wood.
