The Road

"The Road"

words by MusicallyMrM
music by Peter Fokkema

Verse 1

Down every highway, Round every turn

Always something new; A lesson to be learned

Swimming against the river; Floating on an unending sea

Out here searching, Just trying to get to me

Some days feelin’ lonely, I just don’t fit in

I have to admit sometimes I don’t like the skin I’m in

But you play the cards you’re dealt  and if you see it to the end

The darkness turns to light and the sun will shine again

Chorus

‘Cause the road less traveled is long

But the price to be free is worth the long trip home

Verse 2

There’s always some battle

There’s always some war

They say our cause is just-we don’t know what we’re fighting for

A slave to a dollar; you kill a brother with a smile

If that’s living a good life

I’ll just walk on for awhile.......

Chorus

‘Cause the road less traveled is long

But the price to be free is worth the long trip home
