TRUE
your sword seeks an enemy
rest by this tree instead
for your enemy
if you but knew lives inside your head
you’ve fallen down and your crown
like friends is lost and gone
but that crown
if you but knew was ne’er as gold as sun
your shield fields another’s blow
howls with ice and sleet
but that blow
if you but knew blew you to your feet
you’re naked now and all alone
nothing with nought but you
and that alone
if you but knew was all that was ever true
rest by this tree instead
for your enemy
if you but knew lives inside your head
you’ve fallen down and your crown
like friends is lost and gone
but that crown
if you but knew was ne’er as gold as sun
your shield fields another’s blow
howls with ice and sleet
but that blow
if you but knew blew you to your feet
you’re naked now and all alone
nothing with nought but you
and that alone
if you but knew was all that was ever true

it's true that ultimately we're
all alone, I guess, but at least
that's a kind of commonality...
a thoughtful, thought provoking

Re: TRUE
So into this world, we arrive vulnerable, and alone....and when time afforded expires, we leave the same...and in between, all is but illusions, and delusions, created (essentially) to help us cope with our existence.....as we struggle to survive--a l o n e..
( or, perhaps, something like that...?? ) :p
Soooo.....before i completely cross the borders into the philosophical realm,(umm...might have already :/) i wish to tell you how much i enjoyed this poem!
Mo Chara,I appreciate that you have created a piece that leaves, not only your readers, but myself with points to consider...within the abstract, and the realistic!
Thank you for sharing!

Dear Enchantress - I'm humbled by your interest and so glad that you enjoyed it - yes naked in and naked out - so it begins is how it ends...and though (it being a material world) we will always experience anger, fear and loneliness from time to time as things happen or we thought they happened..
we have a choice as to how we feel about them and from this choice comes the gift of understanding and with the gift of understanding comes an opportunity, a bid for freedom or :) something like that...

Sometimes I wonder about the truth, is everything false, except the truth or is there no truth?
We all wonder about it sometimes.
The search for the holy grail
We all wonder about it sometimes.
The search for the holy grail

your words deepfelt here..this makes me remember one of the two utmost philosophies I ever keep close..one's very own thought n actions n emotions make himself n responsible for whatever he goes through..very engaging read, in your simplistic elegance! thankxx for this

What is left to say?
For they have said it all
*even beautiful doesn't begin to describe your work*
For they have said it all
*even beautiful doesn't begin to describe your work*
