Another Day In Paradise?
It begs the question
which side are you on
the lines have long since been drawn
askew East, West
blurring the common mans communism
neo-Nazis dance to the tune
of neo-Feudal lords
playing power games from the white palace
built on the backs of zombies
sold the slaves dream
men of faith at each-other
over yarns spun eons ago
a joke that stretches the wool
over the masses
will you sit idly by
as the world falls
praying to the T.V.
sure, things are bad over there
but thank god for microchip meals
will you watch the children
claw each-other in the street
fighting over the scraps
unaware of bets placed on which runt should die first
will you offer a hand
though it could well mean the loss of limb
along with everything else of value
will you share your last meal with your beloved
knowing days could pass between starvation and a can of beans
I'll ask again
which side are you on
when the illusionary lines have faded
beneath the light of dark days
which side are you on
the lines have long since been drawn
askew East, West
blurring the common mans communism
neo-Nazis dance to the tune
of neo-Feudal lords
playing power games from the white palace
built on the backs of zombies
sold the slaves dream
