Observations of a Watchful Eye, (Redux).
Not for the reason of helping your
cities homeless do you clean-up the
downtown, no contrary, you push
them to the city-limits bounds
I guess that they no longer
contribute to the footballs
ticket sales and the show must
go on
So having them around can't be
condoned
You're so fucking concerned about
half a billion on an retractable
dome but, can't even chip in 50,000
to put a roof over their head so,
they have a place to call home
Sleeping in the streets with a day
old paper as a sheet and you don't
give a shit but, you reprimand a
kind-hearted officer who in, N.Y.C.
felt compelled to buy and
shoe a mans feet
True, the man may have been scamming
but, your initial reaction showed how
fucking whacked, "American," mentality
is
A man has been likened to being a tree
in the earth, spreading his branches,
the good of his soul, to relieve others
from the heat and this life's worst
But instead, he seems to be a worm,
eating on the good of others and when
they need a hand, he spits in their face
and laughs at their woe
Bathing in ditches and living in the
cities sewers, don't be surprised if
this comes upon yourself and is your
conclusion, when what is put out, comes
home to nest

In spirit, I agree with much of what you have said. However, I live in what is now the most expensive city in North America to live in. We have gotten that way, in large part, because of our climate that allows homeless people from all over the country to come here where they can live year round without freezing.
When you cannot walk a quarter block without someone holding out their hand - and when the best sign they can put up is "A beggar's pride is that he is not a thief" - no mention of even trying to find work - then you begin to wonder who is paying the cost. They have just announced yet another increase to the gas tax here - we are already paying over $6/gallon - and that's just one small example of how much we put out to provide shelters, free food and various other charities for the people who flock here to take advantage of it.
I need to be able to make a living as well.

I do agree with what you say. It pisses me off bad when you see this healthy-looking man out there holding up a sign that you know is capable of working. I do know though that life is daily, transitional. I had a job with great benefits that ended in 09, when they said the economy was taking a shit, where I was bringing home $700.00 a week and had a decent place. I got laid-off and the steadiest I've had in 4 years is a job for a year and a half and have had to live with the in-laws which if it wasn't for them, we would be homeless. Which by the way sucks having to live with a mom again who likes to try to relive the time when we were kids.
I guess though, I was referring though to how cities and states say they don't have cash to pay teachers more or they take away school-programs or run the homeless out of downtown because they're unsightly to the big-spenders at the games but they can spend almost a billion dollars on a roof that retracts.
Just seems to me that priorities are right. And a lot of this money goes to these players out there bitching cause their only earning, $8,000,000 dollars for a season, which is about 8 months. Wah you pussy. Sometimes I scratch-by with, $12,000 and a year and you're pulling-in 2 to 8 mil in 8 months.
Sorry for the rant but, it's not the homeless who are driving-up the values, it's the property owners and mortgage companies.

That's very true too. I watched our housing costs go up tenfold when HongKong residents started buying up property here in anticipation of it's return to the mainland.

That's cool. I've always wanted to travel. I've been interested in places like, Ireland, (I have a big percent of that in my blood), and Tibet. I have also thought about, Russia. The Himalayas would be cool as hell to traverse too. I like the beauty of the landscape and deep pre-Christian beliefs of places like, Tibet and Ireland. Sometimes I think I was accidentally placed in the wrong body.
