Angel
He looks into her eyes and then
studies the layer underneath her
face
She tells him, "Everything's ok,"
but he can tell that the aura
around her being has changed
He can't help being drawn to the
cry of her heart, because he's an
empath
The anguish that she feels compels
him and he'll do anything to replace
it with solace and relief within
Some might try to say, "You're to
sensitive, not manly,"
But believe me, he's more of a man
and stronger than they could ever
imagine to be
Rugged-looking on the outside with
that chistled body, voice that goes
deep into the woman, masculinity that's
unmistaken and not shaken
But to use this as leverage for
whatever, he doesn't try
Not there under false pretenses, he
with honesty, pushes back the hair
covering her red cheeks on her face
and wipes the flowing tears from
her eyes
Pulls her close to his chest and holds
her gently in strong arms, offering her
asylum and a reprieve from her hurt and
the storm
He takes it all in to himself and
absolves her of the pangs
She asks, "For how long can you stay,"
and he says, "All night, if it needs to
be that way,"
