TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE

of being        
when becoming        
is no more        
what good are        
language        
thoughts or words        
when so often        
they not only        
consume themselves        
but devour        
the worlds        
they create        
as well        
how blind the mind        
of modern man        
so sold out        
lost        
to so much        
soulless artifice        
yet even here now        
beyond these        
thought dripped        
nocturnally        
worded stains        
moon shadowed        
creeping games        
stretched out across        
this dreaming page  
to catch these  
fallen drippings  
of my yielding  
tuned in  
open mind  
from and in which    
seems i can sense  
at least      
a dozen different choices  
of other ways        
to go        
but intuitively choose  
to only go        
the way        
i do        
compelled        
by either  
my own  
free will choice  
or that of my  
inner muse        
to inevitably        
wind my way        
back into some        
unforeseen        
until it s done        
strange  new corner        
of either nowhere        
or complete surprise        
yet wondering        
as i go        
why i write        
or say        
these meandering        
seemingly        
random things        
im so compelled      
to do        
even though        
they aren t so random        
whether inspired or not        
along this tuned in        
open        
impressionistic        
thin ice        
muse lit path        
which overcame  
back in the early  
adolescent years  
of my developmental  
youth  
my deepest being s  
fractured  broken  
misled past s  
innate distrust s  
much keener  
intuitive sense  
of what all i  
was told and taught  
and expected  
to unquestionably accept  
to so blindly believe in
and fully comply to
by school  by church  
by nation and state  
as well as by  
the greater  surrounding  
collective society  
at large  
of pretty much  
everyone else around me  
at and from
such an early age        
but despite all that  
nevertheless
i learned early on  
through my own  
innate  true nature s
ever curious
forever questioning
somewhat rebellious
against the grain
more often than not
inner thoughts and feelings  
to listen to  
and trust        
my deeper intuition s  
more resonant  
inner guidance s calling        
while somehow      
knowing all along      
that whatever choices      
whichever paths      
in life i  we all      
might choose to make      
or take      
with our own  
individual       
innate free wills      
that unless we can      
better learn to listen  
more deeply  
more closely  
how to trust  
and follow  
the subtle  
inner guiding voice  
our open heart s        
innermost bliss        
and deepest truth  
while striving  
the best we can  
always being true        
to ourselves    
first and foremost    
just as we        
each and all    
already    
either do or not    
that i and we        
each and all        
stand at greater risk        
of either giving up        
or missing out completely        
on our one        
true chance        
of living a life        
worthy of ever
even        
having been
lived at
all
