Image for the poem Simply Yes

Simply Yes

The flickers of the candle
Blown by the wind
From outside the window
Tonight we wed
Only you and I together

The I do’s in the church
Has come and gone
Families and friends
Have gone home
Tonight we shall truly wed

I take your heart
To beat with mine
I take your love
to answer with adoration
your body my temple

I wed you now
As you take me
One and the same
We will ever be
Bound by these rings

The fusion of mind
The meeting of bodies
The bonding of souls
They become our pledge
Simply Yes.
