Motivation (or lack, thereof)
A lack of motivation
and crippling lack of wealth
Is draining all my self-esteem
and damaging my health
I need a little pick-me-up
to get me on my way
I think a swift kick in the ass
is what I need today
Got problems with authority
but sometimes need a boss
Unless someone is pushing me
I'll probably get lost
Don't get me wrong, I'm not the type
to follow someone's lead
I just get lost in what I want
and forget what I need
I lost my compass long ago
and need to make corrections
I need a strong,...

The Perfect Girl
She never has a change of heart
she's never insecure
I never have to worry if
she feels she's been ignored
With just a bit of maintenance
she's never going to quit me
And anytime I pick her up
she's ready for a quickie
She has a classic sense of style
and no shortage of curves
She doesn't need no makeup
'cos she always looks superb
She never gets a headache
or orders me around
Or tells me I can't see my friends
whenever they're in town
She's always pleasant to the ears
and easy on the eyes

Karma's Bitch
It seems what I was destined for
is sleeping I'm a ditch
'Cos fate can be a fucker when
you're stuck being Karma's bitch
It's one step forward, two steps back
atleast, that's how it seems
When all you touch just turns to shit
then all you have is dreams
Atleast I'll get a little sleep
it's quiet in a ditch
And there's no need to even try
when you're society's bitch
I try to strive for happiness
but it's not what it seems
Brainwashed by the material world

Pieces
I know the pieces fit
'cos I watched them fall away
I rearranged them, made them fit
but couldn't make them stay
I point the finger, blame the other
because my fault it couldn't be
But suddenly I realised that
three pointed back at me
I know damn well the pieces fit
but how I just don't know
Don't know of its been days or years
it seems so long ago
I put them back together
though I still don't really know
How I'm supposed to fix it when
I don't know how they go

They prefer jacked-up 4x4's
to a reasonable ride
When they seem to be scared of dirt
and don't know how to drive
They wear ridiculous cowboy boots
because they think it's cool
They always wear designer clothes
that make them look like fools
I guess it's really not their fault
they don't know how to act
Society projects this trash
as if it were all facts
Now every piece of trailer trash
wants to go dress like this
The way girls seem to fall for it
has really got me pissed
They don't know shit about the woods...

The hard and unforgiving ground
is where I make my bed
My pillow's just a little hole
dug out to fit my head
Can't think of anywhere to go

What you've heard may appeal to you
but don't believe the hype
For even though I'm well-equipped
I'm not the "boyfriend type"
But I could buy you candy bars
and give you lots of hugs

quartz
I waited for you like a stone
just hoping to get tossed
I'll likely stay here undisturbed
until I grow some moss
I longed for you to pick me up
so I could feel your touch
I knew I'd soon be cast aside
but I don't ask for much
I know that I'm a fool to think
that I'd again be found
I'd probably never catch your eye
from all the rocks around
I'm just another piece of quartz
atop a giant mound
But all I really have is time
and hopes that I'll be found

Can't seem to take a closer look
I think my mirror's broke
Or do I really look so dead
from all the booze and smoke?
Can't even wax poetic now
because I lost my license
My world was once so beautiful
but now it's dull and lifeless
I keep myself on house arrest
and spend my days in bed
Abandoned all my hopes and dreams
and all my friends are dead
And at some point my favorite tool
decided it would quit
And after trying everything
it still won't work for shit

If life is like a heart-shaped box
filled with variety
then why does any sudden change
bring such anxiety?
If love is like a battlefield
that would explain a lot
'Cos every time I get involved
