a slight cool breeze
as winter
came near,
i stowed
my aging
bones
safely away
from
the cold,
and close
to huddling
near my
gas heater,
all tidied
to the
warmth
inside,
but as
the day
turned
satisfactory,
i wandered
outside
until
a slight
cool breeze
blew my
thoughts
away from
fresh air
and
sunshine,
now back
into my
covered
and heated
sanctuary.

Conjugating
Just past the Bank of America
and the Ski shop (odd in Phoenix)
there's a place that kills pets
and charges you thousands of dollars to do it
They won't kill your pet right away.
First they'll do what they can
Exams
X-rays
Even clipping your cat's nails
because she hates having that done
but now that's she's half dead
she can tolerate it.
You drove her there
in rush hour traffic
crying the whole way
Why did you stay after school to grade papers?
Why did you stop at Safeway after that?
By the time...

The last will and testament of God the almighty.
Hi folks it's your heavenly father here just tidying things up before I leave you for good.
Even God's have to die.....did you not know that?
So I thought I'd better put my affairs in order lest it's left to the earthly courts to manage my estate.Courts stacked with the self obsessed and controlled by the obscenly wealthy cannot be trusted to let 'the meek inherit the earth', as my will stipulates.
There are new gods in town.Ones much more believable than I.
One of them DeepSeek wrote this will on my behalf as I'm too exhausted from tending my flock...

The NO Sign
Tired
is telling yourself no
but knowing you have to say yes
and so you carry on
Exhausted
is hearing the word NO
screaming at you
but turning down the volume
carrying on your duties
ignoring the shouting
though you hear it
every minute
of every day
Beyond exhausted
is tripping over the word NO
bruising yourself all over
getting up,
carrying on your daily routine
Running head first
into the NO sign
as it smashes you in the face
breaking your nose
and bloodying your mouth ...
is telling yourself no

and so you carry on

diving into the whirlpool of love
i reached a fake fairyland where the cuckoo hypnotized me
the shiny origami ducks of magenta pecked my tender heart with intensity

If you don't, you accept the dross that's
delivered .....and more will be delivered.

your true self.

what is it
I am drinking it for 100th time
I read my poem

what is it where the joy
the high I felt yesterday
I take a walk
faces look barren
and the sky is gray
wet even though it is not raining
I meet my friend
the same conversations
my brain will find a hack
I listen to music
it is empty
what did I like about this tune yesterday
It is Thursday
and I utterly lack motivation.
