Poetry Contest

Share your trippy experiences (drugs or not) and make us feel them
Ever had a really bad (or good) trip? A fever that broke your dreaming mind? A religious vision that made you a believer? Tell us about it. Give us your best trippy poem that almost allows the reader to experience your trip as well. These are typically very visual, but don't have to be. Time distortion, words jammed together in odd ways, rapid increases and decreases in pace, and talking coyotes in the desert all work as well.

I'm too old to do LSD anymore, so help me out and let me trip like you do.

Contest rules:
--One poem per person
--Prose is accepted as well, but don't make it too long unless it's freaking awesome, please.
--Contest closes in two weeks
--Give us the context in 1-5 words, ie "acid trip", "fever dream", "concussion", "religious vision", etc.

MY APOCALYPTIC DREAM

[i]
The four horses of the Apocalypse rode into the land

Riderless horses, as all the men, had been killed by hand

Had already been predicted, for thousands of years

The Lion of Judah had opened, the first four

Of the seven seals, symbolizing conquest and war

Famine and death, it had stated already way back

When World War Two came to an end

Succeeded by blood - baths in sequence

Until in the twenty-first century

We witnessed traveling anarchy

It started with the "Arab Spring"

Followed by the "Occupy" movement

The Rage of the Unemployed

Governments discounting their citizens needs

Riots all over, the citizens bleed

They lose their money and their houses

Money can buy nothing

The Book of Enoch has revealed itself

In my dream, both Jews and Christians will be affected

The Almighty will reveal secrets to the Saints

Instructions given to Angels, the Heavenly Messengers

The Lord will smite the evil-doers

As HE has done in the past

Though Israel is now a despised nation

It's glorious future is certain

The Day of The Lord shall come

The final triump preceded by

A complete overthrow of the existing order

The oppressors of Israel shall fall

Only the good of all nations shall be resurrected

While all the evil ones shall meet firey hell

Hark, the Messianic age is coming

He will come to redeem the good

So if you pray, give to the poor, cleanse yourself

Do it now, for that day, we do not know of

Will come for sure, it is understood.

I've done mushrooms several times, and salvia twice. I wrote this poem stoned on a train ride the day after I did mushrooms once:

I Don't Care

Ever growing seldom knowing post psychotic womb dreams
arrive while I’m awake.

Ever present effervescent esoteric moonbeams
shine every time I make,
love.

A laugh erupts atop the stair.
Pink velvet pulse
beyond compare,
dress daylights breath
in cashmere flare,
silk smooth.

The smile spreads
throughout the coach;
weaves blinding threads
to frowning hosts,
asleep.

(sorry a little long but this was value weed and anti depressant mixed bad combo for me)

Twisted game ! extreme content !
An unsteady scream
A terrible dream
A gun and a blade
Is this a game?
I grab the gun
The blade disappears
A second or two later a man appears
He runs at me and i see the blade
I pull the gun up and steadily aim
BANG the man hits the ground and vanishes
Brass knuckles and a bandanna appear
I grab the brass knuckles and wait
A man appears and grabs the bandanna
A dagger falls out
He picks it up and smiles
I smile as he lunged and sticks the dagger in my arm
I smile as i pull it out and throw it away
He wraps the bandanna around his fist
I smile and laugh when he squares off
He steps toward me and i laugh as i beat him to death

I'm considering this freeform poetry (not actually sure what that constitutes but..). I weaved the experience through the understanding I've gained from it to form something I think is...coherent? idk...lol i got very stoned and this all churned out. I'm out of pretty words and i need to go get a cigarette an hour ago. enjoy?

UNEARTHING

Do you remember the time
You used heart, not mind
And the walls came tumbling down
I remember a time I can hardly define
Humble as I am, now back on the ground

Of what I could say, what I could divine
These words only serve to pervert and divide
A fledgling shadow of old paradigm

But Grace still bears upon us
Her bosom with wine and grain
We are not without guides, climbing twixt from this spiral
Lest we look outside ourselves

I remember this well, though
Of plights on men, the quaking oracle spoke
A bitter omen, never written in stone
And so it would seem, I bear this tale upon my soul

Across the vacant North, lambent mana did appear
A sight to behold and as it was, it held us
Howling chariots confessed, they came in black
To take all we had and give nothing back
And so fell a third of man, as if dead, in their despair
Some violent force drove us from them
And oceans took their place

From the South a wilting echo
This one fell god, conspiring in his defeat
And so another third turned face
Promised the world, and earth took their place

And then the radiance clarified, or we rose to meet it hence
In either regard it shone plain
It taught us of enlightenment though it spoke no mortal tongue
For we had faith in nothing, not in gold nor trophies won
We alone could rise above, through no judgment
By no decree but that of perspective

The left behind did gain their loot
The world was theirs to have
The virulent rot they perpetrated in all its blossoming decay
And that same world we inherited, one in the other
Though ours in its eternal glory

In times of reflection they are still with us
Though we never need look down
The vulgar crowd is in us now
And as we grew up, for them, we grew out

                     Coricidin Trip
I took half a box
Felt reality slipping
Antihistamines

Feeling quite heavy
Felt kinda like a. cartoon
is this reality?

A three day trip
All wild-eyed and bushy tailed
Stuck in-between worlds

People know im weird
Seeing wonder in everything
Like a child again

Another Night of Wondering (lucid dream)

a shadowed desire
calls from the dark
inticed by wounds
that bleed in my heart
drawn to my scent
the chase
and the fight
the darkened desire
that creeps in the night
I open my eyes
suprised what I see
words desolve on my tongue
as I try to speak
confused by the dark
and the things that I seek
unsure of the reasons
why the darkness chose me
I look at myself
and sense my own fate
wondering if it
is really too late

Scorpio Rising

The red desert floor reaches endlessly
like an ocean of sand.
The heat is getting to me -
I start to trip.

I see Scorpio rising,
watching me with his twinkling, starlit eyes.
He impales me with his stinger
injecting me with his visions.

I see
the Great Dragon of old
breathing fire arcoss the night sky,
burning out weaker stars, leaving them in his wake.
He is here to teach a lesson to all mankind.

Scorpio, brother to the Great Dragon,
has brought me to this place
on a quest.

Before me stands a door, ajar.
Behind it, a thousand virgins dressed in black,
white porcelain skin, crimson painted lips
they speak in unison
in a language I don't understand.

Standing on a hilltop, Scorpio
points towards the horizon
where I see giant scorpions,
their stingers like daggers.

He says 'they are here to cure the folly of man
who eats up the vomit spewed by corporate America and the media.
Their venom is
the cure to all those who are blinded.'

Then I see a great eye of fire
unblinking, drinking in all that has unfolded from now
back to the beginning of time.

Scorpio whispers in my ear
'you're on a long and treacherous journey.
Watch your footing in this desert land.
I'll be looking in on you from time to time.'

My eyes ease open
as if awoken from a dream.
Left with a deep impression of Scorpio rising,
I shake loose the cotton from my head
and open my mind.
