Forgiveness

did she feel the pain
in his words when his lips smiled
did he feel the reluctance
of her arms to let him go

the pride that shored
their feelings against feeling
the need to not say sorry
where each shove was a thrust

they didn't know that their love
was the best there was
in their own life and love
they would never find laughter

lust would conquer their missing
each other on certain nights
but to their grave regret
the three words never said

I forgive you.

Jesus Did It, Best

Quite the plan, it was--
to forgive
and exterminate every sin
past, present and future.

You see,
if something isn't alive
and flesh,
how can it be physically killed?

That's where the cup of iniquity
came in handy--
fill it with every murder,
lie, theft, deceitful thing,
you name it,
then drink it.....

It became part of you.
Flesh--
as it absorbed into the blood
infusing tissue,
part of life, alive
then it was game on.

Allow your own creation
to kill you
with all their ugliness inside of you
so it dies, too
with each pound of the spikes
through your flesh.

Then bring yourself back to life
after offloading all the things
that needed absolution,
into the place of death.

Bravo.....
Ingenious.

And here I am,
unable to get past certain things
that I should have let go,
miniscue blips on the radar
to what you accomplished.

I couldn't have done it--
drank the gall
and be nailed to a tree.

I'm too afraid of pain.
I'm a little scared to die.
(but not so much, that I won't give it a try, someday)

So here's where I need you
to take all the bitterness and anger
and offense
from a handful of things
(you know which ones)
that I can't seem to stop revisiting
and drop-kick it for me.

You already did the deed,
so I just have to pry my fingers off it
and hand it over.

(You wanna count to 3, or should I ?)

Do you think I'll be able to love again
or trust enough to be open to in it?

What about all the garbage I spew
each time I find more hidden
half-assed things
my former boss did (years ago)
that still keep surfacing
and getting us in trouble with inspectors?

What about all the rest?

Can I accept that?
(because sometimes "forgive"
means "acknowledge it and move on"
not be besties and hang out.)

Can you accept that?
(of course you can--you already did)

Now the bigger question is,
why can't I ?

The last tear

Look closely into my eyes
and see at last, the happiness tells no lies
my heart no longer aches or throbs
waiting for you to emerge from the fog.
See how my smile finally has reemerged
after all the worry has been purged,
yes you now hear my laugh all over the room
and hear my deep sighs of peace in my tomb.
Like the proverbial zombie I rise
wiping death from my eyes,
yes, look now my friend at my hands
free of any binding bands
no longer being wrung with fret
or being beaten against the pillow so wet.
Yes, I do miss you, and I still feel pain
but now it's a drip rather than a rain
look deep into my soul and you'll see
the last tear drop has been set free

Heavy Cross

was it you
or was it the wind
that turned off
the flame of desire?
who's the one that
by distraction
lost you
was lost from you

never came back
to ask for
forgiveness

I don't even ask you
that much
I just want
half-open mouth

waiting
for forgiveness
for none
of my sins
the hand begging
a solution
that cools me down
the stigmata

You are a crown of thorns
and I don't know where
I left my
sacred Heart...

Mask

One can Never
Forgive
The Unthinkable
One can Never
Allow
The Lizard Minded
To put back on
The Human Mask
That Slipped Off
Their True Face
For them to Say
Oh I'm so sorry
It was the drugs
I was stressed
I Promise
I won't let my mask
Slip Again

Regardless-I’m There

“My home girl called me today saying pray for me
Because balloons of cocaine erupted in her pussy,
“Crying about being stupid and should not have taken the flight
And the doctor’s saying she might not survive the night,

“I told her she was a motherfuckin ass fool
Being someone’s international pack mule,
“The only thing she should’ve been packing was clothes or dick
And if she make it-bitch you need to quit,

“I told her I was on my way, because she will always be my friend
And if shit turns tragic-I will be there with her in the end,
“I decided not to call her mom, she can burn in hell
The trifling ass bitch abandoned her when she was twelve,

“Ten years later I’ve been her protector and provider
This failure on my part set my soul on fire,
“I know it was her choice and a personal responsibility
But the shit was like stage four cancer eating inside of me,

“The last time I saw her the situation ended real ugly
Because I found out she lied about her pregnancy,
“Not only to me, but also the baby daddy
And when she got an abortion his ass was not happy,

“In a cold-blooded way I told her to slow her ass down
The response I got was fuck you CS and her leaving town,
“That harsh memory was several years ago
As I pulled up in the hospital parking lot real slow,

“Arriving at her room she was half-sleep watching TV
And instantly start crying when she noticed me,
“Her first words was ‘I’m sorry’ as I kissed her on the forehead
While she scooted over so I could sit on the side of the bed,

“For hours we talked, cussed and joked-having a good old time
Until our stomachs hurt from laughter and we both were crying,
“Then looking into her eyes I watched them lose that shine
As the silence was penetrated by the sound of her EKG flatline”.

Deeper Than The Pelion

Deeper than the Pelion Sea
and still waters of twilight
sweeter than ambrosia
vanishing sins
aches and pains
exonerating the flame
of dark's misguided fools
while listening to the innocent
deeper than the Pelion Sea

Suitably Fitting Forgiveness

or

The Scientific Fact of Hard Determinism v. Free Will Shakespeare

"Each physical brain makes choices -- though not freely."
-- The Law of Causality

*

This "I" of quantum bits quick writ a verse true terse of wit
befit a quantum network versed in physics, phil, and lit
which measuring a prickly play stiff Willy's network writ
ruled Angelo no angel, but a gilt-cloaked hypocrite;
lewd Lucio illumined not, though smartly clad a Brit;
and sainted Isabella still a dressed-up tainted twit.
Yet judging each, these quantum bits much soundly each acquit --
"free will" a fit unfit on any fiction, "I," or bit.

Forgiveness

I am sorry… the words that are dripping
From the mouth that should taste sweet
Like honey, but in the heart they taste like
Blood, full of copper and salt. Do you truly
Mean those simple words or are you tripping
Over false words and promises? Your feet
Carry you to the ocean where you dislike
The waves, but drowning in your newly

Found duty to be honest with yourself and
Those you hurt should mean something.
How can you live with yourself when you
Can feel the flames on your skin? How can
You forgive others when you cannot stand
To forgive yourself? Maybe you are numbing
The pain inflicted by others. Maybe the blue
Parts of your soul heal from the pain you ran

Away from. All you know is that forgiveness
Should not feel like something that hurts as
Much as a bullet to the heart. It should not
Have to be as painful as being in love with
Someone who does not love us or give us
What we need in return which are the paths
To redemption and forgiveness. The knot
May become untangled, but you re-breathe

Life. Forgiveness is never easy, but neither
Is leaving her behind – the girl who used
To never believe in forgiveness or apologies.
Now she wears those words proudly on her skin.
I am sorry. I am sorry. I am sorry. The keeper
Of words that used to be fractured and bruised,
But now they are the words of higher qualities,
A different place than where she used to begin.
